2018 FARM BILL

Picture
The Farm Bill of 2018 confirms the legalization of hemp which Is cannabis

containing less than 0.3% THC. It also provides
provisions for its cultivation,

transport and sale. Hemp and hemp
products will be allowed to move across

state borders. The bill
includes a package of laws that address:
  • Crop subsidies
  • Cultivation regulations
  • Food exports
  • Crop insurance
  • Rural development
  • Research
  • Organic certifications

The Farm Bill of 2018 was proposed to remove hemp from a controlled

substance to an ordinary agricultural commodity. One of
the most important

aspects of the Farm Bill is the normalization of hemp, like any other agricultural

crop.
In addition to removing lowTHC cannabis as a controlled substance, the

law would:

  • avail farmers of water rights

  • federal agricultural grants
  •
  • make the national banking system accessible to farmers as well

  • as allowing for marketing and crop insurance

  • Hemp research will be boosted. Protections for hemp research

  • and researchers has been extended.  Researchers will be able to

  • conduct research more freely and with ease.
  •

Hemp is becoming increasingly important of the textile industry as well as

biofuel production. It represents a tangible opportunity for future explosive
