Dr Hansen has studied the atmosphere of the Earth for years and is referred
to as the 'father of global warming' because of his early warnings in the 1980's. In
1988 he testified before the U.S. Congress on climate change to raise awareness
of global warming.
Dr. Hansen is currently representing his granddaughter, Sophia
Kivlehan, and "future generations" as plaintiffs in the Juliana v. United
Stateslawsuit which is suing the United States government and some of its
executive branch's positions for not protecting a stable climate system and in
determining the responsibility for climate change.
