To remain a viable industry, farmers must transition to more environmentally
sustainable products and to create a better and more compassionate food and
farming system . Farmers must reduce meat production to avoid increasing the
levels of greenhouse gases and improve population health.
Diversification is necessary for farmers as markets and consumers have
evolved, many opting for a healthier alternative to consuming meat. This
industry is growing rapidly. Farmers can seize this popular trend by converting
their farms to growing plants for plant-based products and vegan protein
products. This will create a new and flourishing food economy, keeping farmers
thriving while also demonstrating they are an integral part in solving our climate
crisis.
Organic farmers are not allowed to use chemical pesticides, antibiotics, and
growth hormones on their farm for 3 years before being certified organic.
It will become necessary for all farmers to make changes to tackle our climate
crisis and :

- as well as to remain relevant in the farming industry.
