WHO IS GRETA THUNBERG?
Greta Thunberg is an 19 year old Swedish climate activist. She has become the young voice of our Climate Crisis and a growing symbol of a rising global youth rebellion.
Greta was named Time Magazine's Person of the Year 2019 as a result of her actions. Her activism and blunt honesty has triggered worldwide and individual activism in millions, especially among the youth. She has created an attitudinal shift toward an urgent change in our wasteful habits. Her message is simple: We are currently in a dire climate emergency! She is alerting us about humanity's predatory and destructive relationship with our home. Greta admittedly has no magic solution to our crisis.
She and others of her generation feel abandoned by traditional power structures. Instead of trying to change those structures through traditional methods, she is shaping history with FACTS. Greta has brought the climate crisis from relative obscurity into the spotlight. We can no longer remain neutral. She has become an icon of a generation, and she is 'clarifying an abstract danger with piercing outrage.'
The Climate Crisis can become this generation's Clean Climate Race. Massive public investments and support will make the United States the leader in the high-tech green sector. This direction will create new jobs, generate new technology, create spin-offs and drive the economy. Thousands of jobs will be created by this new and life-saving industry.
